Thank you message and curatorial statement process from Debe Arlook and Fred Brashear Jr.:

"As Co-Curators of L.A. Photo Curator, it was a pleasure looking at all the artistically creative submissions for Time and Wisdom of the Land. Our job as Curators was not easy as we looked at the submissions without the informational support of artist statements, relying solely on examining each image for a level of professional execution we thought was worthy of merit. We appreciated the many different approaches to Time and Wisdom of the Land, which challenged us at times during the selection process. As we reviewed the submissions, we looked for originality; images that made us ask questions, kept our attention in the spaces photographed, and addressed our theme were at the top of our selection process. Thank you all for your wonderful submissions; it was a true pleasure curating your work. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors as artists and image makers."

5% of artist entry fees goes to the charity of the jurors. Debe Arlook and Fred Brashear Jr.  chose the Las Fotos Project, a Los Angeles nonprofit photography organization that mentors teenage girls.
