NOTE FROM THE JURORS:

"We want to thank all of the artists that submitted to our call of Rebirth and Renewal call. Congratulations to all of you. The work was diverse, thought provoking and ultimately gave pause to what we cannot control, Mother Nature as seen in Karen Numme's winning photograph Destroy, Rebuild LA #23 to the beautiful exploration of self in Leanne Trivett's, Self Portraits. We humans are forced to continually overcome external and internal experiences as we go about our individual journeys, photographs are able to capture these fleeting moments in real time like no other artistic medium. This imagery helps us not only remember the reality of a moment but also let go and to rebuild from that moment. As with all curating, it is hard to make selections. All the work spoke to us in different ways and we respected each other's differing perspectives which made for a lively discussion. Ultimately, we enjoyed seeing all of the work and truly appreciate each one of the submissions."

THEME:  Rebirth and Renewal
With Spring upon us, what does rebirth and renewal mean to you? These concepts, though closely related, carry their own unique essence—each symbolizing transformation and the opportunity for new beginnings. Whether you view them as a personal awakening, a spiritual rejuvenation, or a deep connection to the changing seasons or the cycles of nature, spring often serves as the perfect metaphor for these profound shifts. It's a time when growth, renewal, and a fresh start invites us to reflect on our own moments of rebirth.

We invite you to share your interpretations of these themes—whether through a celebration of nature, an exploration of spirituality, or a deeply personal revelation during a unique journey, or simply spending time to reflect during one’s solitude... Let your creativity shine through any genre: Conceptual, Staged, Documentary, Street, Social Commentary, Montage, Alternative Processes, or Experimental. (Fully AI generated imagery will not be considered).
We look forward to seeing how you capture the powerful essence of rebirth and renewal.
