2020:THE FIRST HALF EXHIBITION p.1
Angela Zheng—Closed
The plant on the left looks like it’s taking over the business—an apt metaphor for how the pandemic has consumed us as a society.- Lori Pond

Cristian Geelen-May the birds protect you as the king you are
Debbie YJ Lin—Resolve 2020
This photograph to me represents what’s happened to this country in the past six months. The pandemic and the rabid policing have both conspired to deal a heavy blow to our presumed way of life.- Lori Pond

Diane Fenster-Covid-19 06
In this simple portrait, the photographer is able to tap into universal feelings facing us all as we navigate the COVID-19 lands.- Lori Pond
I love the flow of the subjects hair like a soft wind across her face and the half moon of light across her face and body.- Laurie Freitag

Elana Bush-To be so Lonely
This poignant image brings to the surface the loneliness that is seemingly built into this time of all of our lives.- Lori Pond
This is a clever way of depicting the loneliness that so many of us felt from the Stay-at-home orders. This would seem to be the safest way to hold hands.

Eveline Schneider-Growth
In spite of the horrible times we have all been living through, growth is still possible, and that is what this photograph represents to me.- Lori Pond
I had to laugh when I saw this as I have 2 of these growing in my kitchen now...and I didn't before the pandemic!- Laurie Freitag

Jacob Brody- Cloud on Concrete
Kent Klaudt- Park Two
In the midst of the pandemic, these simple expressions of joy are very endearing.- Lori Pond
I love the idea of being fully in nature but still separated-kind of a futuristic scenario.. Futuristic because who could have ever thought this would be a reality we would know? We are redefining our reality. - Laurie Freitag

Kevin Convery- Worry
Kind of sums up 2020.- Lori Pond
This drew me in because we are living in an upside down world. The balloon-man seems to be frowning with his upside-down smile...but because I'm so conditioned to see him the other way...I'm hopeful that his dilemma is in fact temporary. I see him as a playful being, upside-down, yes, but...he's still smiling.- Laurie Freitag

Kevin Lyle- Stay Home 18306
A cautionary tale well told.- Lori Pond
Yes I agree with Lori! I wonder when this shot was taken and also wonder how high the newspaper piled up before they were tossed. Maybe the reader should have just cancelled their subscription!
