A Note from Fran Forman:
"Thank you to all the artists who have submitted to this call. My interest is in understanding our relationships with, and respect for, our non-human companions within the global community. By protecting our companion species we are also protecting our personal and global health. The interconnection of peoples, species, and all living things must be recognized and acted upon if we are to maintain the health of our planet. It is now clear that our current pandemic with its continuing variants began in a live-animal market and like other viral transmissions, spread from animal to human at an astonishing rate. We as a species must recognize that there are no borders that can protect the flow or disease, or the flow of information, or the flow of people. Somehow, our species must be able to recognize and accommodate this 21st century reality."
